THE National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has expressed
regrets over the mix-up in the reporting date for the 2015 Batch ‘A’
Orientation Course in respect of the corps members deployed to Benue
State.
The orientation of youth corps members in their Benue camp,
like in some other states has been planned to take place in two streams
with the Stream I scheduled to take place from 5th to 25th May 2015 and
Stream II to hold from 2nd to 22nd June 2015.
However, the Corps members assigned for the Stream II
exercise in Benue reported at the Camp between 5th and 6th May 2015 as
against their scheduled date of 2nd June due to error on their call-up
letters.
NYSC in a statement signed by its Director of Press, Mrs.
Bosede Aderibigbe in Abuja said it had paid financial expenses the
mix-up might have caused the affected prospective corps members to
enable them travel back to their homes and return to camp on 2 June.
The NYSC management assured corps members not to entertain
fear about the camp arrangement, as it would not affect their
passing-out date.
The statement reads in part; “Consequently, all the affected
prospective Corps members originally scheduled to participate in the
Stream II of the on-going Orientation course in Benue State have been
paid their transport fare to and fro the orientation camp in line with
their entitlements in the present circumstance.
